Crossroads Corporate Center
Framingham, Massachusetts
Commissioned by The Congress Group, B&A New York is developing the schematic design of a 436,000 square foot facility consisting of a commercial building located at 125 Pennsylvania Avenue in Framingham, Massachusetts.
The building will potentially house one of two great American companies – Bose or Genzyme. As such, the design incorporates the companies’ primary functions and also integrates the site’s topography. Two towers will house the main branches of the companies; Research and Development and Business Office space. The center, consisting of a three-story, translucent glass/atrium bridge, will connect the two branches.
The parking structure blends into the topography by application of a drastic height change designed to minimize its presence. The multi-dimensional glass façade is not only appreciated by the local observers, but employees are also stimulated by the skins innovative glass treatment as they walk from the open parking garage to the transparent gallery pathway which spills into the atrium space.
Along the gallery is a public plaza which includes restaurants and a gym. At a 90% efficient core in the center of each tower, the surrounding open space encourages flexible and efficient configurations of office or laboratory space, all of which will be afforded a panoramic view of the beautiful New England scenery.
September 2008 - Inauguration of the New Passenger Port of St. Petersburg
Phase I of the New Cruise Passenger Port of St. Petersburg, Russia master planned by Bermello Ajamil & Partners will be inaugurated next Wednesday the 10th of September.
This portion of the project will support service for 2 mega cruise vessels to the area.
Phase II Work Continues
Work continues on phase II of the massive 25-hectare cruise passenger port which will be fully operational in its entirety by May 2010 supporting a total of 7 cruise vessels simultaneously. The port will also serve as the hub for a larger land reclamation project of more than 450 hectares supporting expansion of the City of St. Petersburg over the next 20 years.
B&A is excited to be involved in this project which will breathe new life to the City of St. Petersburg’s waterfront, allowing for its continued leadership and growth of the region’s cruise tourism efforts.
